What is happening in the market?
Measured facts, with the time they were measured. No predictions, no signals, no terminal full of numbers you do not know how to use.
Context, not a terminal
APEX measures the environment so it can reason about your decision within it. Not so you sit staring at numbers.
Every data point APEX shows comes with when it is from. A price from two minutes ago is not “now”, and saying so matters: the difference between fresh and stale data is sometimes the difference between a right reading and a wrong one.
And what does not arrive is declared. If a symbol in the basket does not respond, APEX does not replace it with the last good value or silently drop it: it says it is missing and why, and that absence travels to the analysis with the explicit instruction not to assume it.
A provider that is down empties one data point, not the basket. And a fallback that lies about what it knows is worse than having no fallback.
What APEX can claim today
The main equity benchmarks, with their price, their change and the time they were measured.
The VIX when it is available; otherwise, realized volatility calculated on the daily series. APEX always says which of the two it measured with.
The dollar, gold and oil. Gold and oil enter with an ambiguous sign on purpose: one is a safe haven and the other an input cost, and treating them as a directional signal would be false.
APEX keeps snapshots of the market and compares the current one with the previous: not “volatility rose”, but by how much, over which window and against which snapshot.
This market layer has no source for the macro calendar, corporate earnings, dividends or splits, and no calendar of market holidays. None of them is estimated. They are listed as unavailable inside the product itself, because saying something is missing when it is there would also be a lie.
Three levels of certainty, never mixed
APEX separates what it can claim from what it can only observe, and from what it can at most suggest.
The measured data point, with its time and source. A move below the minimum threshold is not a fact: it is noise with decimals, and it does not get in.
The reading derived from two or more facts, saying which ones. It is not an opinion: it is arithmetic on data you can check.
In the conditional, and only if you declared a direction. Without a thesis to confront there is nothing to say, so the block disappears instead of inventing a generic impact.
The same three levels structure the Daily Brief and the Weekly Brief, in separate fields. It is not a new scale per screen.
The market enters the reasoning, not a dashboard
A single market layer feeds all four consumers. There is no second implementation anywhere — if there were, two APEX screens could tell you different things about the same market at the same time.
